Irma Miriam Chugar Zubieta The present work aims to design a model market rescuing the historical legacy of Santa Cruz, to solve the problem of informal trade settlements and generate a meeting point for citizens promoting tourism in the Municipality of Buena Vista. The methodology used was a bibliographic review of primary sources, such as: Encyclopedia of Architecture Plazola 7 I-M, and secondary sources as statistical data of the INE, 2012, among others, in order to identify qualitative and quantitative aspects based on the subject treated. On the other hand, a fieldwork was done, with observation visits to know the cultural environment of the place, interviews with people that we consider relevant of the municipality of Buena Vista, photographic record and physical survey of the land and its immediate surroundings. The study shows that a market is a public space intended for the sale and purchase of one or several products (food, clothing, materials, etc.), either in small or large quantities, in addition to supplying products that meet the needs of consumption to the population, is a space of social interaction where people meet, dialogue and make an exchange of information. According to their characteristics, they can be of neighborhood, neighborhood, district or municipal scale. The project presents a market of municipal scale.
