5 ABSTRACT Design guidelines for single family home with low environmental impact in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia Daniela Erika Durán Antezana Advisor: Dra. Arq. Irma Miriam Chugar Zubieta The purpose of this research is to establish design guidelines for low environmental impact housing in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. The methodology was founded on Content Analysis, which structures the research and allows the generation of inferences that can be applied in the Santa Cruz de la Sierra context. In this regard, design guidelines are proposed as a way to increase thermal comfort within the home from the study of the weather conditions that affect interior comfort levels. At the same time, the guidelines seek the efficient use of natural resources, so in this way, and in conjunction with all the elements, it is possible to reduce the environmental impact of the home in the use stage, classified as the most polluting stage in the life cycle of a home. Finally, it is concluded that the application of the guidelines to an architectural project can improve the quality of internal thermal comfort, because they take into account factors that determine temperature, humidity, lighting, ventilation and solar incidence, optimizing the levels of comfort and consequently, reducing the use of polluting conditioning systems. Based on the results, the construction of low environmental impact homes is promoted, aimed at the efficient use of resources. Keywords: Housing, Environmental Impact, Environment.
